Outputmessage aka Bernard Farley, returns with the third and final single before his sophomore LP drops in early 2010 and he’s saved the best for last.

“N.Y.R.” takes many of the familiar synth textures from his debut, Nebulae. He has re-worked his sound creating an energetically layered song complete with horns and strings that is a true pop gem and perhaps his brightest and most catchy track to date.

The lyrics of “N.Y.R.” reflect this change of sound and shows that Farley is ready for something new. Although there is evidence of loss (“I asked you to stay, but you decided to go”) there is also a sense of promise and hope delivered as an infectiously catchy chorus.

Along with the original, are three distinct reinterpretations. Osborne, whose “Wait A Minute” track was highlighted on Ghostly’s Adult Swim compilation this year, starts things off with a gorgeous down-tempo remix layered with a rhodes keyboard and strings that really bring every ounce of emotion in Farley’s vocals to the forefront. Next up is DJ Will Eastman, who runs the famous BLISSPOP night in DC, with a driving remix geared towards indie-dance floors. Finally disco-house duo Dmerit switches things up with an almost 80’s, Pet Shop Boys-inspired rework.
